It’s just a ring thing

About this design:

I had my granddaughter for several days this week and she wanted to learn how to make rings. We watched a few videos and looked at LB’s ring instructions and the rest is history. She went crazy and I went with her! It was such fun. She was singing or humming the whole time! LRC, I told her about how you listen to music while you bead, so she made this treble clef in your honor. She is an awesome young girl! The picture with 10 rings is “Izzy’s collection”!

Components:

We used lots of assorted color and gauge wires. We also used assorted Czech glass flowers from LB, carnelian beads, Swarovski pearls and stash beads.

What a wonderful selection of rings. Izzy’ scollection is fabulous! You have a budding jewelry artist and it is very apparent the two of you “went crazy together.” Thanks for the treble clef honor. I love it!

These are great! The flower ones are so cute! I’ve been trying to get up enough nerve to try making some rings. How hard were they for you?

We both had to throw away a couple (just the wire). After we got going, it all started to click. We basically kept to 3 different styles. One of those was with a ring jig. The other styles were made using a ring mandrel. They weren’t too hard. For the ring base we used 20 gauge and 22-24 gauge for wrapping. With the ring jig,it’s one piece piece of 20 gauge wire.

The 3rd picture with the round purple Czech bead and gold hour glass beads is that stretch string (the kind you use for stretch bracelets).

Shared memories that will last a lifetime! Your granddaughter will surely be addicted to beading as we all are–so much fun & very rewarding to see finished results. Everyone will want her to make rings for them, I’m sure! I love the variety of styles you created, and the grey one with the silver swirl is so unique. I appreciate you sharing all the different designs. :)

Thx everyone for the lovely comments- I appreciate them so much. Back in Dec 2015, I posted Izzy making a cup chain/rollo chain and leather bracelet/ she learned that weaving so easily. And she had made Christmas earrings. She has made her friends very happy with her projects. I hope she’ll continue- she’s 12 now and friends are very important. Every now and then she’ll ask to try something new. This was one of those moments. I treasure them as I’m sure she does and will in the future. I feel pretty sure she’ll be an LB customer in the future.
