The Summer of Love

About this design:

I was going to call this Flower Power but my husband said no - The Summer of Love. OK - so this started off as a row of 10 beads - then I thought it would look better if the flowers stood out from the necklace. Remade it with 8 beads. Peyote stitch. I found this one very difficult. The third photo shows the center of the necklace where the flowers change orientation.

11/0 seed beads - blue and many other colors

I am just so impressed with these! This may be my favorite yet! Love the title! The flowers are so dainty and seem to dance.

Thanks MM. This one was so much harder than the others. Doesn’t look like it should be, but it was. Anyway – thank you so much.

You do such fabulous and intricate designs. This is no exception. All of your bead work is superb.

I have a new “puzzle” for you…. how about paisleys? I love paisleys especially in blues and greens and all of the colors in between. With that wonderful grid design paper I should think almost any design would be possible but what do I know about bead work? I play with 12ga wire. :)

Thank you ladies… LRC – I was afraid you’d do this to me – Paisley!?! Oh no… no no….

BLE, I’m just helping you come up with new designs….
I’m sure there are many off the wall designs I could suggest…. but I won’t. I am totally amazed at the ones you have done. Hey, what do you think about beading a llama or alpaca? They are very popular right now. :D

A llama or alpaca… What a great idea… Ha Ha Ha Ha ha. Besides, can’t you see I’m living in the past.

BLE Wowzers!!!!! This is so outstanding and summery. Have you thought about polka dots or leaves for fall color? Or Christmas trees, snowflakes, or stars for Christmas? Snowmen? I just don’t want you to run out of ideas. :-D

Thank you Robin. This one wasn’t that speedy. I was so frustrated that I set it aside for awhile and made a different necklace before finishing it. I’m glad I did as it seemed a lot easier to do when I went back to it.

Beady, this is definitely a favorite! I love how the alternating flowers go just beyond the edges. It looks very hard with continual attention to placement and color of the beads. But the hard work paid off because it is a wonderful one! :)

Oh, forgot to mention….my vote is one with small birds on it!
