Knots Knots Knots

About this design:

I've had these porcelain beads for a long time. I didn't know what to do with them until I ran across a Create and Learn technique here on Lima Beads for the snake knot. Since it was my first attempt using the knot I kept the designs simple. I started off with just a single knot between beads. I had a few beads leftover so I made another bracelet using multiple knots between beads. Although I don't care for the name of the knot (not a snake fan) I like the knot. It's a lot of fun.

Components:

5x7mm Wildflower Mix large hole porcelain beads (LB), 1mm Chinese knotting cord, and buttons.

Spring and Summer are on the way, and I can see this being perfect with a sun dress. Kind of simple Bohemian. Nice.

I love it when a simple stringing material becomes an important part of the design. The knots really set off these beautiful beads!

What fun and beautiful bracelets. The porcelain beads are so pretty and look great with the buttons. I think the multiple knotted one is my favorite. Nice work.

Beautifyl Kye! Very ooohhh … aaahhhh indeed.

I’ve used the “snake” (also not a fan of the name) knot myself whenever I’ve made Malas. It’s a fun knot, and goes quickly once you get the hang of it.

Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate you taking the time to give me feedback on my work. :) I’m waiting on an order of leather from LB. I want to try this knot with leather cord.

Perfect! I love the mix of colors against the brown cording! The snake knot is a great knot to master. I also learned how to do it from Lima’s site. I even tried two different colored cords–it was a cool effect. Love the sunburst button on the first bracelet. Very nice work Kye! :)

My fave beads at the moment, and such stylish knots! Have to find that tutorial! :-)
The clasp looks so effortless, you’re a pro — mine tend to be a bit botched ever so often…
