Red Creek Jasper Necklaces

About this design:

Gotta love the red creek jasper. The colors and patterns unique to every stone.

I ordered 1 strand of the sticks and 1 of the rondelles. The diamonds are left over from a piece I made so long ago I don't remember when or where I got them. The sticks and rondelles and the copper spacers are all part of a recent order from LB. The chain is an old one and both clasps are simple hand made hooks. Because of the weight of the sticks I strung them on beading chain.

I ran into a problem working with the crimp tubes. A few days ago I was slicing something (I don't remember what) and sliced a sliver off the tip of my index finger on the left hand. Crimping tubes is a major problem when you don't have all 10 fingers.

Components:

Red Creek Jasper sticks, rondelles and diamonds, copper spacers, beading chain, hand made copper clasps

Ooh, sounds painful! But your necklaces are a success! I especially like the second one with the sticks.

Ouch. It’s hard to do jewelry craft when your fingers are damaged. But you managed to create something beautiful anyway. We must suffer for our art, LOL.

LRC – Lovely necklaces – the Jasper colors are so beautiful. I really love your use of the diamonds. And the copper spacers with the sticks is so pretty. Great work.

I agree with everyone. Fun, interesting necklaces. I’m glad you were able to finished them with your injured fingers.

Ouch! What we suffer for our passion! These red creek jaspers are gorgeous! I really like the mix of shapes you used in this design…very appealing to the eye.

Beautiful necklaces. The second one is my favorite. I love Red Creek Jasper. I have heard of going the distance for your passions, but didn’t think maiming yourself was a necessity. Hope the finger is healing and will be in great shape soon.

Both necklaces are gorgeous! I especially like the variety of shapes, especially the diamonds, in the first design. I hope your finger heals–you are so correct that we need all fingers to bead! We don’t give it much thought until one of our precious members is injured. I feel inspired by your stick designs! :)

Thanks for the compliments, comments and sympathy everyone. The cut is almost healed but it is in the most inconvenient spot.
I remember the first time I worked with Red Creek jasper. I don’t remember what they were sold as but it was love at first sight,

Red Creek Jasper is one of my favorite stones. Both of your necklaces are so beautiful. I’ve been drooling over those sticks for a long time. Haven’t known quite what to do with them yet. All the different shapes in the first necklace are very impactful. I’m glad to hear your finger is healing. Ouch!
