Comforting myself

About this design:

I’ve been making masks for 6 weeks. So many nurses needing them, because the medical grade masks were for in patients rooms with covid19 (due to shortages). My daughter and her husband both nurses on critical floors. Their stress has been unbelievable. It’s not just at work/ they’ve had to line the inside of their car with plastic everyday they work, leave their shoes outside and undress in the garage to lessen the chances of bringing it home. I pray every day for their safety- God has been good! I feel like I can take a break and come back to what comforts me/ it’s not all that important in the big picture, but brings me enjoyment none the less. For sure, my priorities are changed. I love Lima beads and hope y’all have survived this mess without injury or loss to your business!

The enameled pieces are from Etsy, as well as the lampwork beads. The blue earrings are Czech glass. I saw a picture of similar earrings somewhere. All findings are copper.

I love your creations! I would wear them. I have been making masks too. My Kitty is an essential personnel. My cousin is making them for her 2 daughters, daughter-in-law and granddaughter…they are in the medical profession. One of my friends is a retired Police Sgt and she has been making them for 1 of her doctors and her staff. I hope you and your family stay safe. We lost 3 cousins to Covid-19.

Thank you, Robin! I’m thankful to everyone who has to be essential to take care of us. At least we can be creative to keep us sane.

These are gorgeous Earrings ! Thank you for making masks. I bought 2 sets from Etsy. I want to be able to wash them. I haven’t received the 2nd set yet. I wish more people would wear masks. The studies have proven that its the most important thing you can do in addition to social distancing and hand washing. But masks can stop 75% of the virus according to the study.

Thank you to all doctors, nurses and all hospital staff. Also thank you to all people who are making masks. More people need to be wearing them in the younger ages. Our local news, went to the beach over the weekend to report on the overcrowding and far too few masks were being worn. On young (late teens to early twenties) had the nerve to ask the reporter why he was wearing the mask, then proceeded to make fun of him. How little does the young man understand that his age group is now in the bulls eye for being infected by this horrendous disease and the new one affecting the organs of the younger people. These earrings are beautiful.

These are beautiful! I am so glad you have carved out some time to create and hopefully find a small bit of relief. I can’t imagine how stressful it must be for your daughter to be going thru those safety measures each and every day–but it is very wise during this risky time. As was mentioned, we truly need to remember the hard work and sacrifices those in the medical field take every day to help their communities.

Beautiful earrings! Thank you for making masks. I can’t imagine how stressful working in a hospital now would be. How can we ever thank them enough for what they are doing for us? Beading is a wonderful activity during these times. Gives us all a chance to escape for awhile. Sharing here and communicating is a great outlet. I’m so thankful for Lima Beads.

Thank you ladies for all your kindness and thank you Lima beads for being there and continuing to fill our orders and allowing us to not only share our love for beading, but allowing us to share our thoughts during this pandemic. I am sure I speak for most of the people who blog here: we’re like family- encouraging each other with our projects and also through rough times. It brings me much happiness to look at everyone’s talents and the beautiful work y’all do.
