To still the mind? Seriously?

About this design:

The earring charms were my inspiration. Just love sunflowers! And amethyst is my birthstone, but it certainly didn’t still my mind. The inner necklace chips were a pain in the neckl! And then I couldn’t find my connectors- so I settled for the lotus charms- all this while the phone is ringing off the wall with spam and robo calls. I’m glad it’s a new day!

Canary yellow pearls, gold filigree beads, citrine ovals and dogtooth amethyst rounds. Amethyst chips and blue lapis. Pendant and earring charms from my fav Etsy artist, lamp work beads from Etsy artist. Gold findings

Remember when the phone would ring and everyone would run to answer? Because it might be your friend? And then you would spend hours on the phone, stretching the cord as far as it would go? With your parents in the background yelling get off the phone! Ahhhhh, the good old days.
Love the color combo of this and I appreciate all your hard work!

I thank the Lord for the answering service on my phone. It announces the name of Who is calling or if no name the number. Love this necklace and earrings! The sunflower drops and necklace focal are amazing.

Just another one of your outstanding designs with fabulous components. You always have the most wonderful ceramic pieces for your designs. Great color and design.

Bluedog… I remember those good old days when you needed at least a 25 foot coiled cord for the telephone receiver so you could go sit in the bathroom with the door closed because you NEEEEEDED privacy. Never heard of robo calls or spam back then.

Now nomorobo is my friend. It catches about 80% of the spam and robo calls but a few still sneak through and it is always when you are in the middle of a difficult or delicate piece of work with little parts.

Beautiful set Robin. All of he colors work so well together – and the beads- love the gold filigree and the pendant and earrings. So lovely. You have such talent.

Yeah – I also remember when the phone was fun (as long as your little sister wasn’t listening in on the other line).

The soft gold of the citrine and pearls play beautifully with the amethyst. I can see why the sunflowers sparked your joy!

Awe… you guys made my day so much better! I was so frustrated yesterday! Thank you so much-I remember those old phones too and trying to hide so you could have privacy to talk to a friend or boyfriend. It was such a different era- simple-less complicated. The United States never called (heehee) -have you guys gotten those calls? anyhoo…. back to the beading table after I order some connectors:)

The texture of the chips and color combo grabbed me right away! This is so beautiful. Great bead choices to highlight the ceramic pieces. The touch of blue lapis is a nice surprise too.

I totally understand how frustrating chips can be because some are not drilled the best. One trick I learned is while they are still strung, I go thru & pick out all the poorly cut ones or those I don’t like and set them aside. Chips & nuggets are favorites of mine to work with–I think they add a lot of interest to any design.

As far as the 25 ft telephone cord–we still use one! Can you believe we still don’t have a smart phone?

Wow Crystal! Is it a rotary or push button? I think it’s awesome you still have it. Ours was a black rotary and when we got a new yellow one, I thought we were rich.

This is such a terrific pick, Robin and I am so impressed with all your talents and assorted components!

We still have a landline but do have cordless receivers. The caller is announced so if we get a robocalls … and my mobile will only ring 3 times with a robo …

Sick stomach waiting for him to call and yes, trying to hide in the bathroom.

Robin, yeah, we still live in the dark ages. It creates a bit more peace in our lives having just a landline. We have Trimline push button phones (1980s-the good long lasting types) in rooms except Master (no phone there). An older message type in kitchen hanging on the wall with the long cord. When we talk to others, it’s undivided attention because we sit down and enjoy the conversation. A choice we don’t regret–somehow keeps life grounded. I’d love to have a bright yellow phone!

This is a gorgeous piece. At first I thought it was blue but in the close-up I realized it was a lavender shade with a bit of light green? Anyway, gorgeous!
