Copper Cloud with Czech Glass Drops

About this design:

I've never seen a copper cloud... well maybe at sun set when all of the clouds are a-blaze. But I waned a copper storm cloud with rain drops so I made one. It is a bit of foolishness but I enjoyed making it.

Getting the contoured shape was a quite a challenge. Since I can no longer use a jewelers saw I cut the shape with snips. The dips were difficult but luckily I have files with different shapes so I was able to get them shaped.

24ga sheet copper, Czech glass, pure copper chain and antiqued copper chain

Looks great LRC, it kinda of looks like a leaf- but when I’m looking at clouds I come up with all kinds of visuals in my mind! Very cool!

Love this textured copper cloud! That’s some great filing work…amazing there was no sawing. Oh, your poor hands!

This is a great design! I love the vision carried thru to finished piece. The ‘dancing’ raindrops attached to the bottom of the cloud is wonderful! You did a great job using just snips. It’s nice to know that detailed shapes can be created with snips along with files to finish them off. Did it take long to smooth out & contour the final shape?

First thing I thought of was your necklace looked like rain falling from a cloud. Such a wonderful design. You have fantastic snipping skills. Ouch! Cutting that cloud would be so difficult. Well done!

Cutting out the cloud did get a bit tricky in places. I must admit I employed a bit of the fudge factor on the deep curved. I used the hole punch and a file. You can do some interesting things with a hole punch. I also used some pretty salty language a few times. :)

Its beautiful work! I would so buy the finished product! Wear it myself or give as a gift! Better yet, learn to make it with your blessing and give your name as the creator.
