Be still and you’ll know which way to go

About this design:

I was reading about turquoise and a Navajo proverb says “ Be still and the earth will speak to you”. I thought how profound for these troubling days. That proverb was my inspiration. Sometimes not knowing which way to go enables trust and leads us to a place of peace, calm and beauty. It’s definitely put many of us on our knees to pray. This style of necklace with the strap will be a large portion of what I take to the show in November. Hope they do well!

Components:

Kingman turquoise ( the more blue is indicative of copper and the more green is indicative of iron), the rondells are turquoise and spiny oyster, spiny oyster heishi beads, howlite triangles (LB- so glad I got them) and Kingman turquoise in different shaped beads. Swarovski globe beads. Copper findings and brown suede strap.

Robin, I’m in love with this! So much visual texture and interest. I really like the way you blocked the color in this design. Everything about this ‘rings my bell’! I purchased some triangles because I thought the shape would be great to design with; but I sure wish I had decided on the white Howlite. There would be no way I could sell this one. Where do you have your shows? I think it is awesome that you were inspired by the Navajo proverb and translated that peace into a beautiful piece.

CC- I have one that’s in the convention center and one in a big church. They are so much fun, but take a lot of work. I just love talking with people. This year will be different with wider isles and only 1 person at a time in your booth and of course masks. And I’m pretty sure they’ll keep track of how many people are in at a time.

This is another great set. I really like the use of all the different colors and great textures. The triangles seem to point like arrows-look at the great beads here! The suede straps you’ve been using look so comfy. I bet they sell well.

Robin – This set is so lovely. So glad the earth spoke to you so nicely. The colors and shapes are great.
the straps are so nice. How do you attach them?

  11. Robin nursechick
    Robin nursechick says:

Beady, I attach the strap using jump rings- I have a heavy duty kind of hole punch and use that to punch a holeI the strap. On the side I have the clasp.

Thanks Robin for the explanation. It’s a beautiful set.
