Monarchs Necklace

About this design:

I made this necklace in collaboration with my client. It's a fun, unique necklace. The netted tubular stitch represents the butterflies flying in the sky. Since the butterflies have movable wings they can be positioned open or closed. That's
why I posted so many photos.

Speechless again! Truly a showpiece! The Monarchs are stunning clustered together creating a tremendous impact of statement & beauty. I like how you carried the wing pattern into the rope & the fine detailing with the pearls near the clasp. How long did this take to make? Wondrous work Beady! 8O

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments.
CC – I can’t tell you how long it took to make because I waited so long for supplies. It was sporadic. The first butterfly wing did take forever, though – Each wing wanted to be about 3 inches wide. Made many wings before I figured it out.

My customer’s sister goes to see the Monarchs each year. These Monarchs represent her and her 3 children.
