About this design:

A summertime necklace to wear with a sundress. I chose pale amethysts, from approximately 34mm x 24mm, to 20mm x 15mm, slightly graduated and surrounded each with two aqua 10mm freeform square Lima Beads' frosted glass beads. The central amethyst is flanked on each side with one 8mm 14kgf antique filigree bead and one aqua bead.
I found an old, solid brass chain, with decorated lengths, each 52mm and attached one of the large links on either side of the necklace. Seven links of a 14kgf 5mm oval chain is attached to the large lengths on either side, to add length. A hook and eye clasp is attached to the ends of the chain.

5 large, pale purple faceted amethysts, 34mm to 20mm in length 6 10mm aqua frosted glass beads, freeform square from Lima 4 8mm gold filled, antique filigree beads 2 large brass antique chain links, polished and buffed, to compliment the 14k gold filled beads and chain. 63mm gold filled chain, cut into two lengths

The combination of the amethyst and the frosted aqua glass is very pretty. Recycling the metal beads, the chain and the big links gives the piece some soul.

I also like the chunky, bold feel to the necklace–and I think it will look awesome with your sundress. All the little details in the findings really make this a great piece. I really like the patterned design on the large oval links. Still have a few months of cold weather….but soon, spring & summer will be here!

This is my favorite color combo. I have to make myself choose different colors for my jewelry creations or they would all be variations of this! This is a great example of using gem “chunks” in a perfect way.

Thanks, guys, for the compliments, making me think MORE about summer! I am still trying to loosen up my designs, to keep up with you guys.
I cannot believe that I found those chain links in the junk drawer. My husband was the culprit. He passed away in October. My jewelry is keeping my hands and my mind occupied in a good place!
    Thanks again for the encouragement!
