About this design:

This is the first time I've made a Rosary. It isn't jewelry as it's a sacred item. However, I'm not Catholic and I had to do a bit of research and talking to people to be fully comfortable making it. A friend of mine had me make it for her husband that converted to catholicism a few years ago. She wanted dark blue stones. I hand matched the stones because the strands I purchased had color variation. Then I hand matched the light ones for the same reason. The beads are from LB and are 4 mm.

The real challenge was trying to figure out how to make the chain without immediately attaching it to the crucifix and connector because I wanted to oxidize the chain first. So I just left the chain ends undone. Then dipped it, then attached them, then tumbled the whole piece overnight.

4mm sapphire (LB) aquamarine 4mm (LB) sterling silver wire (22 gauge) and sterling silver crucifix and sterling silver connector

How beautiful! He will be blessed by this article of faith.
But oh, your poor fingers…I’ve made a few myself, so I understand the effort.

Would love to know where you found the beautiful center/connector.

Very pretty! Although, not a Catholic, the rosary fascinates me. I have thought about doing one but always chickened out. I bet it would be a lot of wire twisting! You did a beautiful job.

Beautiful rosary Khristin! I made a rosary for a coworkers mom 6 or 7 years ago. A lot of wiring. The connector piece has a special meaning for the person using it.

Beautiful Khristin. You put lots of time & effort into creating this rosary. When I make rosaries, I almost always make simple loops. By doing the wrapped loops, you’ve made a very stable piece that will last a lifetime. I know the recipient will be very happy. And I’m glad you mentioned the rosary is not a piece of jewelry.
