A deliberate act
by Fresh Baked on 01/11/21
About this design:
I have been feeling quite powerless in light of recent events in our country. I'm not looking to start any conversations about this here, but to say that I have found an antidote of sorts for this feeling. For me, the act of creating is a deliberate statement of faith in a better future. My personal belief is that we are made in the image of God, the Creator. His acts of creation were mind-blowing examples of his imagination and good will. In gratitude I can affirm his good gifts by my own deliberate acts of creating, even in these dark days. How ever small and seemingly insignificant. They show my belief in a better future and my connection to others. Creating is in our very nature.

Becca W says:I love these! What are the stones in the first pair with the feathers? It almost loks like Hessonite? Lovely. Best wishes of hope and grace for a better 2021 all around.

Zippy-Klunk says:Here, here and Amen sister!!! So well written. The act of creating fends off the feelings of darkness both from the world and from within. Gotta get myself making something…and the earrings are all fabulous! Beautiful in simplicity! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your pretties, both made me smile tonight after a very weary day!

Granny Nancy says:Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed your thoughts given to us on paper in a way although in online form. Being creative and using our waning talents (speaking of me) for gift giving truly takes our minds off the challenges before our present administration and to the new one. I so look forward to Jan 20th and then on to spring. But first Valentines Day. I managed to add some reds to my remaining stash.
Your earrings are delightful. I especially like the ones with the aqua drop at the bottom. I love aqua.

sweetjane says:I, finally, after too long immersed in the events of last Wednesday, found some kind of peace and joy in creating. It is my antidote for all things that create chaos in my mind. Thanks, Lynda, for your thoughts and inspiring designs.

Crystal Canary says:Lynda, You alway capture the essence of your thoughts so well in your words! The therapeutic values of creating has also strengthen my life & resolve to keep moving forward despite the challenges that may come. All of your earrings are wonderful! I love the pair with the rough cut Garnets & feathers as I’m a huge fan of nuggets & chips. These are inspiring creations. Thank you for the touch of hope in days that can feel stagnant being confined in our homes.

Fresh Baked says:Thank you all for your kind and encouraging words. They lift my spirits.
And while no longer have the tag for the stones, I do believe they are raw garnets in the first pair.
