Stranger's Earrings

About this design:

Wire wrapped earrings. Well, it's been a long time. Thanks to Beady for convincing me to get something done, and to a stranger named Doc who handles adversity far better than I do. He also makes beautiful jewelry. 2020 has been a year of isolation, but I did get a good walk in a few days ago and ran into Doc. I've only seen him twice before. The beauty of strangers is how they bring their stories and their best selves to the conversation. You can spend an hour or a day with them, but in most cases you will never see them again, so you can remember them always and smile. I don't do relationships very well, but I have always had the best times of my life with total strangers. Confessing this lifelong habit to a therapist long ago, I expected to get the raised eyebrow and for a few notes to be taken, LOL. But he thought it was intriguing and kind of fabulous. I have all their stories forever in my memory, and they don't break my heart. And of course I do have one relationship with the diva Jazz. Hope you all are well. May 2021 be kinder to all of us.

4 glass blue crystals, puffed shaped and faceted. 6 small silver gray pearls. 2 quartz crystal points, green. 24 and 26 guage craft wire. 2 silver tone ear wires.

Your stranger inspired earrings are fabulous! I love the meandering wire up & down & around all the pieces & parts. The Quartz points are a great addition to the bottoms and definitely bring attention to all the lovely wire work. It’s a good feeling when we accomplish something so beautiful in design & form.

KR – Great to see your work again. Such great colors and wire work. It looks long. What is the length? (Love your strangers story also.)

Thanks everyone. It’s so nice to hear from you all again. Bev, Beady told me you were wondering where I had gone to so I put a message on your last posted design, but I had to go back a few months to find it so I guess I am not the only one who hasn’t been real active, LOL. I’m glad you like the story Beady. You always seem to get me. Crystal, thanks for the kind words and it’s so good to hear from you as well. Jazz had some kind of spell last night. It was almost like a seizure although I am guessing. She seems ok now, but if I have to take her to the vet then I must find a new one. Mine is so angry about the effect of the pandemic on his business that he has become an abusive monster, and I would never turn Jazz over to be examined or treated out of my presence by him. This is what I mean about relationships. There are many kinds, some casual, some limited, some professional, but sooner or later the darkness that I guess is in us all, although I am not sure of that, will be seen and break your heart. I really liked and trusted him but that relationship is done. Oh well. Beady, the earrings are about 3 3/4 inches. Pretty long but I do like excess, LOL. I’ll try to do some more very soon. Time for life to resume. Stay well everyone

K – I am still making jewelry. I’m not posting any on LB because I had a nasty run in with another customer/designer. I decided the negativity was not worth it. I was out of commission (so to speak) from Nov into Dec. Kitty has one of our cats at the emergency center right now. I’m glad you’re back.☺️

Beautiful wirework! And love your story, too.

Bev, I’m so sorry you had to deal with that. Nasty people are just everywhere. I have a hunch I may know who that was, but not sure. I wish there was one place where people could just be happy and decent and not always predatory, mean spirited and bringing drama and unhappiness to everything. Well, read what I wrote on your wire wrapped design so you will know how to reach me if you want. Or have a look at my comments on Beady’s sparkly white necklace she posted recently. Hope the kitty is OK.

welcome back K !! Love the earrings and the backstory …I went to college in NYC and what I loved so much about it was that there was an anonymity…you could just meet someone and walk in washington square park feeding pigeons , dance the night away with someone you just met , share a coffee and a book review , celebrate a total strangers birthday with them and never see any of them again but always have that perfect memory…..I totally get it

Thanks Kimberly, Kye, Stingray and all the rest as well. Glad to be back although I can’t guarantee how productive I am going to be. I’ll try to pick it up. I’m also trying to fix up my old house since apparently I will be here a while longer. Kimberly, yes! You totally get it girl. It’s such a good time and the complications of a relationship never come into your life. Love that you guys get it. Well, freezing and storming tonight, when just the other day it was 71 degrees and I got a little sunburn. What’s that about, LOL?

Oh, and if anyone knows why my pictures always post sideways would you please tell me? It drives me nuts.

KR – do you have a program called Paint on your computer? If so – you can open the photo in paint and rotate it.

I do everything with my phone, but I will look and see if there’s an app that can help. The picture is fine on my phone, but when I upload it it often is turned. I’ll see if I can learn. Hard to keep up with tech stuff, LOL.

  18. Beady Little Eyes
    Beady Little Eyes says:

I wonder if it depends on the orientation of your phone when you upload? I know what you mean about the tech stuff.
