Night Owls Lariat
About this design:
Night owls in so many colors and styles.
after making 2 owls my daughter said dibs. Black, Gold and silver beads for the sky. Funny little owls sitting on branches.
The 2 owls on either side of the center are upside down so the necklace can be folded before wearing.

KR – I designed the owls using a graph but the branches and leaves were all freeform.
MH – Yes, my daughter beads with me occasionally – so much fun.

Beady Little Eyes says:Thanks for the great comments. This is a peyote stitch so each row only adds 1/2 of a bead width to each row, The beads sit on top of each other in a horizontal fashion – so the beads can be rolled between your fingers in a vertical motion which feels so nice.
Nancy – I love your idea of a glasses holder strap. (I actually did threaten to make suspenders for my husband. HaHa. He laughed.)

You could do some bracelets with your owls that would be so cute, and wouldn’t take so long to make. I don’t remember how my friend ended the bracelets, whether they had clasps or not. I just remember being fascinated by the tiny scenes.
