Everything Soochow

About this design:

One of my favorite gemstones is Antique Soochow Jade. I got out all my different sizes and shapes, added some new wire techniques I've been trying and came up with this bracelet. The focal is an adaption from a book by Irina Miech.

Components:

Weave Got Maille jump rings for the Twist of Fate chainmaille weave, 20 and 24 gauge Artistic Wire, Antique Soochow Jade 4mm rounds, 6mm rounds, 8mm rounds,13×4mm tubes, and a 12mm square. All from Lima Beads.

This is a great piece. The stone is gorgeous. You put in the most interesting figure 8 type knots, plus the focal wire design. It’s really cool.

I can only ditto what has already been said. I said “WOW” when I took my first look at your awesome bracelet. That looks like something you’d see in a high end store. Its exquisite.

I love the whimsy in this design with the coiling horse eye shape of the focal, figure-eight knot bead links, chosen chainmaille pattern and varied soochow jade bead shapes and sizes. All the elements work beautifully together, and your wire work is impeccable, as always. Fabulous in every way! Has me feeling covetous, of this bracelet and your talent.

Absolutely stunning! I adore the links with the infinity knots. You are so talented & creative, and I love how you bring new techniques to the fore in your designs. The focal is wonderfully unique with it’s shape & wired beads within. Was it easy to manipulate the wire in the knots? Love, love, love this! 8O

Thank you for the positive feedback. It really made my day. CC I tried to make the infinity knots with 18 gauge wire at first. I wasted so much wire trying. But once I switched to 20 gauge it went much better. I still want to use 18 gauge someday.

Taking another look! I really do love this! I was wondering which book of Irina Miech’s? I’ve checked out a few from the library, but I’d like to take another look at it again if you could post it’s title to my wire. Thank Kye, you are such an inspiration!

CC I don’t think we can send messages to each other anymore. It seems all that fun stuff has disappeared. The book is Wire Jewelry Beaded and Beautiful. I’m so glad you like this. As if I don’t have enough Soochow I ordered the cubes you had in your Fresh Pick deal of the day yesterday. Thanks so much for your positive view of my work.

Hee, hee…..I ordered them too! Thanks for the info!

I hope you can find the book CC. I tried to send you a message but it just sent me to the home page. Is it just a glitch with my phone? Or is there still a way to communicate?

  19. Crystal Canary
    Crystal Canary says:

Yeah, the link to send private message sends me to the home page too. The only way to communicate now seems to be using the ‘wire’ string which is more public. Go to your profile and slide down alittle, and you’ll see the string on the right lower side. I do hope they can restore the messaging somehow.
