Driveway Jewelry

About this design:

Finally finished this one(and got to a reliable internet connection to post it). All the pendant stones were plucked from our driveway. Some were tumbled but most(like the main one) are just natural washed with Dawn and/or alcohol.

Components:

Main: 16g and 20g antique copper Parawire, 2mm and 8mm round hematite, found petrified wood. Others: Parawire in assorted gauges/colors, Beadalon sq wire, micro crystals, ribbon, and found stones.

Wowza! I love all your wiring. If I had to choose my favorite, it would be the oblong stripe stone. But they are all awesome!

What a novel idea Stingray and an unusual name. Talk about found objects… these are totally wild and I LOVE ‘em!
Your wire work is so unique it really showcases the unusual shapes of the stones.

The spiral stone in the lower left picture can’t be just a rock, can it? Where do you live to have such a driveway? Was the builder a rockhound? I have been to areas of Canada where I found amethysts by the side of the road. Like that white crystals rock of yours, only purple.

Beautiful wirewrapping – I love the curly cues. I really love the one in the third photo that’s wrapped to resemble a leaf. Lovely driveway! Also love the earrings.

And, I have driveway envy. Seriously! Fossils, jaspers, agates and druzys…a rock hound’s dream.

I always admire your wire wrapping, all the curls and swirls. Found objects are the best if you are lucky enough find them. I like them all – think I like the druzy best. Well, you know, it’s flashy. You have a lot of talent and I always look forward to seeing your pieces.

What wonderful work! And what a driveway you must have. How fun to just go out to your driveway and pick a stone. All your wirework is so skillfully done and beautiful.

Thank you. The local gravel beds near the piney-woods area of Texas have a lot of quartz and iron content(so, lots of reddish tint and jaspers)and of course Texas is full of fossils. I have a lot of fun searching after a rain after a new load of gravel, cats get a little jealous, though.

How wonderful to find such lovely stones to create with right outside in your driveway. I really like the natural feel of the rocks as they are not all ‘gussied up’ with a lot of manufacturing techniques. I like how you made your own links in the necklace–and the ring is real cool too. Great work Stingray!
