Copper Swirl Drop Earrings
by Crystal Canary on 08/27/21
About this design:
I rarely make earrings for myself—I guess I always reach for my silver or gold hoops. I needed some earrings that were a bit longer since my hair is now at my shoulders & hasn’t been cut since the pandemic started almost two years ago.
Bending, swirling, and hammering wire is a lot of fun! Although these are not a new concept, I settled on an interchangeable pair. The ear wires are made so you can slip on any type of drop & change them out as needed. I made a few drops of varying colors just to see how this would work—but I’m sure I’ll make many more of differing styles. I do enjoy multi-purpose jewelry!
Components:
18 gauge copper wire, Misc beads for drops: Picture Jasper, Citrine, Agate, Sodalite, Lapis, Czech druks, Magnesite, Czech deco seeds, AC findingsRead the comments (or add your own)

sweetjane says:What a great idea Crystal!! I had just enough 18 g wire to make a pair for me. My friend Debbie was over today and I told her to see what color or stone she needed for earrings. This is a great gift idea. Thanks for posting this.

K Ralston says:I like the idea of interchangeable jewelry. Fancy fancy ear wires. You did such a good job on those. Do you like hammering? I hate doing it. Probably just because I like peace and quiet. But I like the look. All these stone drop components are great. Oh yeah, I kinda gave up on my hair with the pandemic too. My idol Betty White says she has no idea what color her hair is and she has no intention of finding out, LOL, but I now know my true hair color, and you know, I kind of like it. It’s more of a Nordic blonde than a Swedish blonde and it has grown since I stopped abusing it so much.

Crystal Canary says:Thank you all for the encouraging comments. Jane, I’m so glad you were inspired and made a pair for yourself! They are so easy to slip on, and they hang in such a way that they are visible with longer hair. Thanks again everyone!
