About this design:

I wanted to see what a necklace would look like with segmented chain and chainmaille as the focal. The bracelet was made with the leftovers.

Components:

18 & 20 gauge wire, jump rings for the chainmaille Twist of Fate weave, chain, 8mm Serpentine (LB), 8mm Sunflower Agate (LB), 6mm Antique Soochow Jade cubes (LB), 6mm Antique Soochow Jade rounds (LB), and my handmade clasp. The bracelet also has Antique Soochow Jade ovals from LB.

kye – I love this set. The squares and rounds play together so nicely. And I love the chain interspersed between the links. The flat rounds are so pretty on the bracelet. Did you use 2 types of chain? Colors are beautiful.

What a great idea. I would never have thought of the chain being the focal. But it works! The gemstone beads in different shapes are also eye catching. Love the bracelet.

Thank you for the kind words. I must have taken the necklace apart 5 times and rearranged things. I finally settled on this design. BLE there are 3 different types of chain-copper and bronze.

What a great idea using layers of chain! I like how you used the chainmaille links to connect everything–they add a nice design element in this piece. I remember a trick I learned after a lot of trial & error–when measuring multiple pieces of chain the same length, put them on a needle, let them hang even, then cut. You don’t know how many times I counted links only to find out I was off–very frustrating. Love your work Kye, you always come up with new & exciting ideas!

Thanks CC for supporting my work. It means a lot to me. And double thanks for the great chain cutting tip. It was tedious and frustrating exactly as you described. The tip should help me waste less chain in the future. Yay!
