Hoar Frost on Hop Flowers

About this design:

The inspiration for this color/bead combination was hoar frost coating hops on my back deck. I shared a FreshPick by the same name (There's a photo in one of my comments of the frosted hops, if you're interested.) The Mother of Pearl pendant looks great from both sides--note delicate honey colored bands on back in supplemental image.

LB's: mother of pearl pendant, Honey Tiger Eye flat ovals and 4mm rounds, White Pyrite Quartz. From my stocks: 3mm brass rounded cubes, gold-plated heart toggle, jumpring, crimps, crimp covers and gold-color beading wire.

Your necklace is beautiful. I love the way the beads you used serve as a quiet and lovely backdrop for the focal bead. Into my faves!

I love this – yes, hops – aren’t they great plants?

Thanks, Lindas for the praise. The focal bead actually has faint undertones that match the honey tiger eye and the back has distinct honey golden swirling bands. You’d think LB “knew” what I had in mind when they shipped this particular MOP flower.

And, yes, KM-Linda, I love the hop plant. The vines grow so fast that the deck (2nd story level) is entwined by Mid-May (when the huskies haven’t munched the tips–for calming essences?). The flowers/bracts are gorgeous and dry easily. The hummingbirds love to hang out in the vines as they guard the feeder that hangs below the deck. The hummers poke any husky tails that hang over the edge of the deck near the feeder. It’s hilarious to Chilli leap up and look astonished at the attack–though it happens every time she dangles her tail. I’ve often wondered if it’s a game.

I didn’t know the hops worked for dogs too. Hmmmm wonder what it does for kitties. I do have their catnip garden out there so maybe that’s enough to keep them sloshed.

A wonderful representation of your photo and Fresh Pick. I haven’t seen hoar frost in years. Pretty but sooooo cold.

I am so jealous. I had that honey tiger eye in my shopping cart but it sold out before I ordered. Meh. You design is probably better than mine, the quartz is lovely with the tiger eye.

Thanks to all, I so appreciate comments.
Sali Jo, I almost fell off my exercise ball/computer chair reading your comment ;o
Martham, I too have lost out on items between submission and packing of my order. We all seem to be loving the same stones. But, we all do such different and equally good designs with what we get from LB.
