Practicing wire wrapping...

About this design:

I've been playing with the wire and here are a few of my attempts. Soon I hope to finish a necklace for the drusy pendant. I got it in a mixed parcel of beads. The jade I picked up at a gem show.

Thanks you guys! I think I was a little intimidated by the wire at first and had to make myself pick it up and just start playing with it. There are so many good wire workers on here, they are really an inspiration to those of us learning!

    Thanks again Ladies!

Hi Chickie Suz, I have been poring over several books that I have purchased. The two that helped the most are “Wirework” by Cougar Armstrong and “Wire Wrapping: The Basics and Beyond” by Jim McIntosh. They both have very good instructions. I have two other items I have wrapped. I did a shark tooth for my husband about a year ago(it promptly fell apart, so I kind of dropped the wire work for a while) and one other cabochon that I haven’t posted. I have been wrapping loops on beads for awhile though. I ordered a “thing a ma jig” from Amazon today. Does anybody here use one of those? Is it considered cheating to use one? I hope not, I want to make a chain for another necklace.
