The Autumn Leaves Pass Through My Fingers

About this design:

Not sure what to say. I guess it could be called a sampler. I'm not really good with wire but am trying to learn what can be done. So I made this silly necklace. (I really wanted to use the skeleton hands.) My husband calls this my junk necklace. Hahaha.... 😀

Components:

Really too many to list. But lots of LB leaves and beads including some LB Bronze Hematite wheels. LB Vintage Bronze Parawire.

You are doing fantastic, Beady! Whatever you make is a masterpiece. I would call this necklace your fun necklace. It sure is going to be a conversation starter. Kitty rolled her eyes at one of the necklaces I made. I told her that I loved it even though it is gaudy.

This is a fun necklace! You are doing well with wire work. So far my wire work only comes from jigs.

It is really cool!! More fun than junk for sure ….it can be a ” junk picking ” necklace ….we can imagine it has magical powers and it reaches down at antique fairs to pick what it desires :) okay now I’m being silly ….anyway I think your wire working is great ….that is the thing I can not do whatsoever ….someday maybe

You had way to much fun with this necklace didn’t you? Love all of the colors and the wild wire work but I’m not too sure about the bony hands… Well heck, they are perfect with all of the rest of the stuff… Okay, I love the bony hands, too. :D

Hahaha.. You ladies crack me up. Actually this necklace was to much fun. Kimberly – I love your idea about the magical powers. And Bev – You’re right – We can love whatever we want.

Beady, your wire-work is outstanding! I like how it’s kind of a fun necklace (not junk at all!!) then it turns creepy with those skeleton hands (but in a good way!) And the your title fits this necklace perfectly – that’s exactly what it looks like!! Excellent

    Thanks GZ and KR.
I had a hard time attaching the bony hands. I think it took about 4 tries. Ended up with 3 double links to hold them in place (Kind of).

I’ve posted some things in the past that I thought were a bit questionable. Then the feedback amazes me! Same with this piece. It’s fantastically fun. And kinda creepy in a good way, like thegreenzebra said! I find wirework is only “bad” if the wrong guage is used for its purpose or if I’m trying to create a beautiful piece with smoothness & the wirework is dented, kinked & ratty looking! Otherwise, it’s a happy accident or eclectic or boho!! Great job, really!

Beady, I think all the wire worked links & drops are wonderful–they have my eye moving all over this piece. I also really like how all the colorful beads stand out against the darker wire. The hands are a bit ‘creepy’ for me–but we all like different things. Keep up the great work with the wire–can’t wait to see more!
