Primal Beginnings Bracelet
by Crystal Canary on 10/25/21
About this design:
I’m finally finding a little time to make bracelets for several of my completed necklaces. Some of you might remember my 'Primal Beginnings' Necklaces, and this is the final piece to finish off the two sets. Quartz shards are so fun to designs with, and I like their ‘raw’ look & the way light bounces off the uneven surfaces. I also included a photo of the other pieces in the set. Going to move on to some more bracelets that need to be made!
Components:
Large Agate Bead, Steel Fire Agate (LB), Quartz shards (LB), Lava rock (LB), ASP steel rounds, wavy rondelles (LB), crystal rondelle, Greek pewter toggle (LB), seed beadsRead the comments (or add your own)

K Ralston says:What a great bracelet Crystal. And it’s nice to have a full set whenever you can. I love the focal agate and what a cool touch with the bead cap and wire across the face of it. It adds so much interest. The 2nd set is also well done. You are on a roll, now on to the next bracelet.

Robin nursechick says:What a beautiful collection, Crystal! The necklaces are real eye catchers-your color transitions are perfect. Are you doing earrings as well? Superb job!

Crystal Canary says:Thanks! Kathleen, the line you see across the Agate is natural banding. I’m not that skilled with wire wrapping beads yet.

thegreenzebra says:CC! What a beautiful bracelet (among your other work pictured here!!) I love your choice of stones and the raw beauty of the quartz shards. All of these items are fantastic, what great work you do!

dolllady aka Pam says:I’m loving all 4 of your pieces! They are wonderfully designed with wonderful beads. What is the focal on the bracelet in the other set?

Little Round Chick says:Love the design of your bracelet! It is absolutely perfect with the necklace it was designed for. The combination of colors and similarity of the patterns make this a truly great set.
Set #2 another wonderful pair with a fantastic selection of beads and components. Just the thing to wear on a winter day.

Beady Little Eyes says:Beautiful Crystal. Love both sets. The large agate is especially lovely. The quartz shards are so pretty and I love your choice of toggle.

Crystal Canary says:Thank you Everyone! Your kind comments are just what I needed this morning. I can’t believe it’s been over four years since I made the necklaces, and it’s taken that long for me to finally get the last bracelet done. I know we all have many projects we want to try & learn, and I guess I keep getting distracted along the way. I am glad to have finally completed this set. My idea here was the different geological formations of the earth–I hope the features can be seen in the pieces.
Robin, I usually just wear my large hoop earrings with most of my jewelry, but have been trying to venture out and make more earrings. You know, it’s on the list of things to do!
Pam, the focal on the other bracelet is a Picture Jasper donut that I used to slide a toggle through. I have so many donuts, I’m always looking for different ways to use them.
Once again, I truly appreciate your thoughtful words & encouragement.

Kimberlywilliams60 says:Absolutely amazing CC !! Before I read your description of the different geological features I was thinking glacier national park and Yellowstone….your bracelets compliment your necklaces wonderfully…..I always love how you put your gem stones together

Deb Harding says:That is so beautiful. The agate looks like a large piece of laminated and polished wood!! So unusual.

sweetjane says:These are all great Crystal! I love your use of the raw stones…like they are just being dug up from the earth. The way you used the Jasper donut in the other bracelet as a toggle is very cool. I never think to make bracelets with some of my necklaces, but it’s really a great idea.

Crystal Canary says:Robin, I rarely make earrings for my jewelry, but since you suggested making a pair, I decided make something simple to wear with both sets. In keeping with the hoops, which I almost always wear, I remembered these antiqued hoops I purchased here at Lima that have been hiding in my beading drawer. I must say, very fun to work with. I added a Lava bead, and some Jasper & Larvakite chips–done!

Fresh Baked says:These sets are gorgeous! I’m especially in love with the rough quartz shards. They really add something different to your design. Be encouraged! You got this!

kye says:Beautiful work CC. The sets are beautiful. I love how you use different textures and stones that look so natural. So much to admire. The way you used the donut for a toggle clasp is so inventive! Great earrings too.
