Sonoran Cactus

About this design:

I had these cactus charms so I decided to create something based around them. I chose beads that reflected my memories of the colors when I lived in the Southwest - it was so pretty there (I'm sure it still is...!)

Components:

Goldstone, Picture Jasper, Aventurine drops, daggers, Picasso Jasper, CG copper sun coin, African Opal, raw Sunstone nuggets copper toggle, Soft Flex wire, crimp beads, jump rings

This is an interesting bracelet with all the different textures. You will think I’m crazy, but I also see it as a candle holder ring. I love candles. I use to decorate them with assorted rings for the different seasons. I stopped doing it because of my cats. Lol

Very nice Southwest colors. I have a question. What are the light colored rough pieces? Maybe quartz? I like those the most. There’s a lot to look at here.

I love this! And yes, the southwest is still beautiful in its special way! Those cactus charms are great in pulling the whole theme together. Love the green Aventurine points with the matte beads. The matte beads remind me of the dry, parched ground before the rains, and the green points the fruitful growth afterward. I also see cactus ‘needles’ which I remember getting stuck with when I was young & foolish. Love how you sneaked the sun coin in there! GZ, I love how you pull all your ideas together with the perfect beads–I see them so clearly in your design work.

I love this GZ, the colors are a perfect depiction of high desert ( we use to live in El Paso. Picture jasper has always reminded me of tumble weeds ( anybody old enough to remember that song by sons of the pioneers?) love the cactus! A great bracelet for fall!

Gorgeous! This bracelet would also show New Mexico and South and West Texas. I’m still drooling over it.

Love it GZ. It really does remind me of cacti. Right down to the melon shapes. And the sun is wonderful. Great combination of beads and components.
