Cookies and Quinoa and.....

About this design:

... AND, Coconut Hell. We had 3 and a half days of Spring and then the clouds moved in. I've been lazing in the sun with the dorks. Now, these animal crackers from my local store have coconut oil in them. I failed to realize that until my throat got swollen and my anxiety rose, and now those cracker animals are getting their revenge for what I have done to them, LOL. Careless. So I started feeding them to the birds and the squirrels. I'm also giving them my quinoa since I really don't like it as much as I thought, and it's good for them. I'm enjoying the creatures and more are coming around all the time, so I'm on the hook now for these daily feedings. I made these earrings while hanging out. They are nothing much, just something to do, and pretty much all I can do because I've touched the cookies to give them to the creatures, and now I itch like you cannot believe. I scratch, and I am just transferring it to my skin for more itching. I'm usually more careful and even wash my hair with dish soap because coconut is in everything, including most shampoos. Coconut hell, my friends, coconut hell.

1st pair, 4mm bicones. 6mm pearls. Crystal drop beads. 11/0 seed beads. Ear wires and beading thread. 2nd pair (I don't like them as much). 4mm red pearls. 4mm blue bicones. 11/0 bronze seed beads. Ear wires and beading thread. They look a little too Christmassy to me.

Good grief KR! Do you keep benadryl or something like that on hand when that happens? Well I’m sure all the critter company enjoyed the picnic! and as always you worked through it- came out the other side with something beautiful. Great job on the earrings! The red will be great for valentines day!

Thanks Robin. I try to avoid antihistamines as they cause other problems for me, but I do have them in the house, and I do have a lot of antihistamine cream. I’ve been using that. It helps but I am still miserable. I’ve got a lot of allergies and I don’t even know all of them so it could be a combination of Spring, foods, pets, dust mites etc. Dorks are getting baths today. Bedding washed. Bedroom cleaned. Filters changed. And no diet cheating for a while. I get problems every so often and a deep cleaning war on allergens usually helps. Sunny again today. So beautiful. Maybe later I will find a bit more motivation to create something. Maybe…

KR, Robin is right about the Benadryl. There is even a Benadryl cream for the skin on your arms. The earrings are great especially with all your itching. Latex gloves may prevent the itch in the future if you still have some of the cookies left.

I am telling you, yummy always comes back to bite, somehow. These are two pretty pair of earrings. The second one made me think of a pair that someone lent me once. They had the blue you have in yours and some green, as well. I loved those earrings but I had to give them back after the event I attended. Your two pair are a good revenge on the coconut oil. It didn’t stop you from your beautiful work! Enjoy the birds and critters!

Beeaaauuutttiiifffuuulll! Beauty created thru suffering. I am so sorry to hear about your ordeal with the coconut allergy. I also find that a good house cleaning can help along with cleaning up my diet. We just bought a bunch of carrots and plan on juicing them this weekend. I’m going to try to cleanse a bit for a week or so. I’m sure the little animals & birds are lovin’ all the goodies you are sharing with them–they will be your forever friends.

Sorry you had to go thru that. Sounds awful. But…your earrings came out great! I really like the second pair a lot. You really have a way of making just simple and elegant earrings. Actually, they don’t look too simple.

Love both pairs of earrings. So beautiful. So sorry to hear about your coconut hell. I hope you can find some animal cookies without the oil. Best of luck to you.

Thanks everyone. I’ve got some Benadryl cream. It helps. Beady, this was the only brand of animal crackers that had coconut oil in them. The rest are fine but I am giving them to the birds and squirrels anyway because they are enjoying them far more than I could. Word is getting around in the animal kingdom that there’s free food and there are more of them every day. I’m hearing all this chattering now. I think it’s the squirrels but the rubbish people got some chickens (I’ve definitely heard the rooster) so maybe it’s them. I have some peanuts on order for the squirrels, and a bird bath on order for the birds. And yes, I’m quite insane, LOL.

Feed them and they will come. It’s sweet you have so many animal friends. Plus you make wonderful jewelry. I’m glad the Benadryl helps.
