African Turquoise & Jade Stars

About this design:

I recently bought a strand of African Turquoise that I wanted to work with- I think the greens have been reminding me of the green bulb leaves I have seen popping up from the earth all over our place. I had some tiny little Jade stars that I thought would look cute in the design, so I added a few of those.

Components:

Zola Elements brass FERN cutout charm/pendant, African Turquoise, Green Jade stars, TOHO rainbow clover seed beads, lobster clasp.

I have so many green beads I have never used. This inspires me to try. Nice how you pulled out the turquoise in the pendent it’s subtle but it works well. Nice!

Love this! How appropriate to use the fern charm to remind us of the budding leaves. Green is a great color but can be hard to design with. I like how you used the green seeds to pull that color out in the design, but not overwhelm it. I agree with DH, the patina on the charm works well with the African Turquoise.

This is a gorgeous necklace. I have green turquoise. Its one thing I’ve saved for me to use if I live long enough after the challenges I’m going thru right now.

Thanks for the nice comments All! The photo does kind of throw off the actual colors in the stones and pendant. I’m still working on how to get accurate photos.

Thanks Crystal Canary! I just read it and the background color tips sound very helpful. I love taking pictures on the phone- so easy to delete the ones that don’t turn out!
