Washed Ashore
by Deb Harding on 04/25/22
About this design:
I bought this pendant from Gaea's clearance sale in 2014. And then I could never think of a design. I was always stuck because I kept looking at a gorgeous necklace Asia made with a similar pendant (different color). Then finally this past summer I was outside with all my stuff sorting and noticed the recycled glass nuggets and the little polymer clay disc beads matched the pendant. And BAM, I whipped this up in an hour.
This is why I said I love these wood slices. I think this necklace looks like driftwood pieces, beach glass and pieces of shell picked up on the beach, with a big shell pendant.
Components:
Gaea pendant Everything else came from Michaels, recycled glass nuggets, wood chip slices, polymer clay discs, shell button, s-lon cordRead the comments (or add your own)

Crystal Canary says:Deb, aren’t those wood chips a blast to design with?! I think they look great with your seaside beach theme & lovely Gaea pendant. Glad to see your post–I’ve been missing your designs. Love the finishing touch with the shell button. Keep up the great work!

Deb Harding says:Thanks Crystal. I do love those wood chips. I’ve got ideas for several more pieces in my head to make. But I’m currently not making any jewelry because I’m in the middle of a massive house reorg and cleaning. Now that I’m retired I finally have the time. Plus I’ve got two new kittens that distract me all the time!!! They are older than this photo now. Running around getting into stuff!!!

Crystal Canary says:So glad to hear you’re using your time to get some things done that I’m sure have been on the to-do list forever. Reorganizing can be fun, but tiresome–but well worth the effort in the long run. How cute are the new kittens?! They will fill your house & heart with joy–and a little havoc for a while. I remember the long climbs up the curtains to get to the top!

Little Round Chick says:Love your design and the combo of colors. I’d certainly like to see a necklace like this washed ashore while walking on the beach… I’d just put it on, wear it and think what a great find!
Now about those cute little kitties… We know that getting into stuff and being fun to watch is in the job description for all kittens!
