Minimal
by Robin nursechick on 05/16/22
About this design:
I have 2 shows coming up this fall, so I’m getting an early start. These pics are taken in that little white box from Amazon- I think the are a little dark. That’s using the light box light and another light.
Components:
The 5 single stones necklace are 8mm: lapis, Carnelian, jade, amethyst, Chalcedony, silver plated spacers, chain and 20 g.wire. Swivel lobster claw closure. The other necklace is impression jasper wheels, silver plated spacers and 4mm crystal rounds. I can not for the life of me remember what those little greens beads are called.Read the comments (or add your own)

Robin nursechick says:I don’t know why the gemstone 8 mm stones description says Canadian- I have carnelian in my description

dolllady aka Pam says:If what you are using to create your post with is anything similar to my Fire tablet it frequently changes a word several times but finally gives in it I correct it 2 or 3 times. Both necklaces are real eye catchers! I wouldn’t be able to chose one. I would want both.

sweetjane says:I haven’t peaked at your shop in a while…how’s it going? Do you go to arts and crafts shows in your area? I have looked into several in my area…and they already have all their vendors or they are way too expensive.

MH says:Very pretty! I used to have my work in a busy shop.

Robin nursechick says:Oh good the description did change- Jane, this last week, I’ve had 3 sales and a custom order. It’s like feast or famine- it’s not as busy as I would like, but the shows is where I make good . The booths run 100-200. I have all the stuff to set up(I.e tablecloths, etc). The convention center is 175. My husbands stuff sells out usually the first show( this year he’s making multi wood bread boards, banks with thei old post office doors, fishing pole holders , and fish lure boxes. I want to try and make fly fishing lures this year- every year guys ask if I do that. Custom lures are big business around Lake conroe. I’ll be happy if I can get 20 done

sweetjane says:So glad to hear business is booming!! I can’t imagine having that much going on. I guess I am happy being the little Beader that I am. I would like to hit a small show this summer or this Fall. What will you do with your shop while you do your shows?

Fresh Baked says:Good for you for planning ahead! I really like the shape of the impression jasper wheels. Very unusual but looks striking with the bright silver spacers.

Robin nursechick says:Jane, I’ll take a short break or vacation

Crystal Canary says:This minimalist style is super! I’m sure this line will be a big success. Usually with warmer weather, people tend to pair down in jewelry style & bulk–and these are the perfect solution. Very stylish. I wanted to mention about the custom lures–they will be scuffed up in a flash. I’ve heard they are a big hit–I hope 20# will be enough!

Crystal Canary says:Robin, I’m also having problems with lighting in my photos, & I’ve been giving it a lot of thought to find a solution. Looks like both of ours are more on the cooler side of the spectrum which I think adds to the darkness. I was trying to fiddle with my camera settings to be able to have more control because whenever there is something white in my jewelry, the auto settings tend to darken the photos as it fixates on the large white element like the sand dollar in my last bracelet. Maybe you can check the type of light bulbs you are using to light with–some have cool hues other warmer? Can you manually ‘correct’ the photos by lightening them in a computer program? I guess we just have to keep walking the road of trial & error. Either way, I think the jewelry looks great in the pictures, and the simple lace is a wonderful way to showcase them.

K Ralston says:These will be great for your show. At first glance I thought the silver spacers were rhinestone spacers, but then saw they were not. They do have significant shine to them.

Beady Little Eyes says:Wow Robin – I love your minimalist necklaces. Your photos look crisp to me – very well focused. I love the silver findings.

kye says:Oh I really like both necklaces. The simplicity really showcases the colorful beauty of the stones. The wire wrapping on the vertical necklace is very effective.
