Chatter

Oceanic

About this design:

I've been listening to Oceanic, an album by Vangelis, to calm my nerves. Bev can tell you that I was at the end of my ability to cope with it all yesterday, and I have shingles now from all the stress. Anyway, I can't find a suitable pirodot yet for Tracy, so she will get this for her birthday and I'll do a pirodot for her when I find one I want.

Components:

Druzy quartz blue stone. Seahorse bead. Crystal bicones. Large blue bicones. A pearl. A crystal rondell. A opalescent bicone. Pearl colored seed beads. Crafting wire.

That is a beautiful pendant. I think your friend will like it. Sorry to hear you now have shingles! They can be miserable even if they aren’t severe. A family friend in his 90′s had them. He had 1 blister large enough to fit in the palm of his doctor’s hand. The itching of the dash then burning of touched in hope to ease the itch.

Love the seahorse pendant. It looks great with the swirly wave underneath. Beautiful design. Your friend Tracy will love it.
The fishies in the window are beautiful also.

Thanks Pam and Beady. I didn’t want to put the blue fish outside because they might scare off the hummingbirds when they move and chime. So they are in my indoor window garden. I’m not sure this is what I want to give her, but at least I have something ready if I don’t get more done. Beady, I have a squash! Am I a gardener or what? LOL. The trellis is up with a new feeder hanging on it. The rubber neckers have been using it already.

KR – You are officially a gardener. Now you will get so much squash you won’t know what to do with it! Yeah – those little rubberneckers are quick to find food. I put up a feeder for the goldfinches this year and they have been visiting it every day. So beautiful. They like teeny tiny nyger seeds.

Thank you Beady. I will get them nyger seeds. I’m really struggling with what is happening in our world, but when the move fell through I looked at the hummingbirds and thought, who will take care of them if I leave? It’s kind of the essence of who I am to take care of everyone and everything. It’s all I’ve ever done and I can’t seem to stop. Thank God for Noodle Soup and Henri who give me a reason to keep going. I invested $2 in a 3 pack of squeaky balls for them at the 99c store. Oh, the chaos that has resulted. But they are so happy with those balls, and the birds are so happy with the Oasis. Happiness is hope, and that’s what we all need.

KR – You are so right. We all need hope. So glad Noodle Soup and Henri are enjoying their new toys. My doggie won’t play with toys or sticks or anything. I think he had some bad experiences before coming to our house. Someone was rough with him. He does love to catch treats though. (I had to teach him that as well.) Such a good boy! Here’s a photo of his first smile – we had adopted him at least 6 months before – maybe 9?

Oh K, I am so sorry to hear about the shingles. I’ve had them 3 times, and I can tell you, it’s not fun. I hope that making this beautiful seahorse pendant helped calm the nerves–working with our hands is the best therapy I can think of–it really helps get our minds in a different place. I’m glad you have Noodle Soup & Henri to keep you company & help in comforting. What would we do without our beloved furry & feathered friends? Hang in there dear one.
