Something dainty for Cotillion

About this design:

My granddaughter, Izzy, has been invited to join the local cotillion. It’s quite an honor. She has to go to etiquette classes and 2 formal dances. She asked me to make a dainty bracelet - this is take one . She hasn’t picked her dress yet- so it may not even go with it.

Components:

I used memory wire, Swarovski pearls, Czech glass 4 mm firepolish beads and Czech glass drops in crystal AB and matte white. A butterfly focal.

What a beautiful bracelet! It will make a great Cotillion gift. Hopefully she will pick something to go with the bracelet. When is the Cotillion?

Robin, this is so lovely. I know it will be a truly admired gift and its inspiring me for when I do my first memory wire bracelet in a VERY long time. They were very popular. I’m sure your granddaughter will love it.

This is such a gorgeous bracelet. I think the combination of cream pearls with pale blue crystals is so delicate and dainty and I love the butterfly focal. I think your use of memory wire will help make the bracelet and butterfly look like they are floating on your granddaughter’s wrist.

This is such a dainty and lovely bracelet. I’m sure it is perfect for a cotillion. Your granddaughter will have the memory for the rest of her life, and the bracelet will be a cherished momento of her special day.

Pam, I’m not sure when the dances are. The group has to go through etiquette classes first. The girl’s dates have to go one class. They have a dress code (I think that’s a great idea). She told me one the dances is in the winter. It’s very much a southern thing.

Robin, you are so right about it being a Southern thing. In Iowa we had Jr./ Sr. prom in every spring at school. The year I was a Jr. my dad’s cousin’s daughter had 2 friends over when we visited them. They were talking about their Cotillion being a few weeks away. Now that I live in Texas I read about a Cotillion in January.

Beautiful bracelet Robin. Izzy is growing so fast. The butterfly is lovely among the pearls ad FP beads. Had to look up cotillion – what a great tradition. Lovely.
