Susan's Birthday

About this design:

All Czech beads. Susan told me about a long Czech glass bead necklace she saw in a store, didn't buy because it was expensive, came back to buy, and it was gone--sold. So I thought I'd make her a long all Czech bead necklace for her birthday.

Components:

Czech beads from LB and others. Waxed linen from LB. Magnetic clasp from FM.

Fun, Fun, Fun–I love it! You just can’t beat Czech beads for variety, color, & special interest. The nature themed beads make this a winner. Nothing like a ‘shot’ of happiness to wear around your neck! :)

I just love this! I adore all Czech glass so you have a winner as far as I am concerned! Looks like a bowl of mixed Gelato with lots of fun sprinkles on top! Great job!

Thanks Jogi, Robin nursechick, Crystal Canary, dolllady aka Pam, and Phoenix, for the nice comments! It is fun to post on LB, and good to know people saw what you posted. The photos were actually taken by Susan, as I barely finished the necklace in time to give it to her at her birthday lunch. I asked her to take a few pictures for me, and I think she did great job. I learned a few things while making this: 1. If you double a long necklace with a large center focal, that focal ends up in back! 2. The more “main” colors you use, the longer it takes to integrate them! 3. Some clasps hang funny when you move them to the side. Live and learn.

Thanks BLE Lucinda, I myself am amazed at how many different beads I managed to incorporate without becoming random. When working with larger beads, like I do, it is a challenge. I love the way you get variety with tiny beads, but I just don’t have the knack of working on that scale.
