The Beast of Morocco

About this design:

One small project. I haven't been very productive lately. I've taken on so much other stuff and everything is in chaos. Anyway, made these and thought they looked a bit Moroccan. I wired the earring findings into the hoops. The name? Well, I have to blame Robin for that, LOL. Ever since she posted the photo of herself and her siblings in her childhood, and we all then did the same, my brain keeps traveling down memory lane. I was simply reminded this time of an old horror movie shown on one of those late night shows, called The Beast of Morocco. I really like that movie. Don't ask me why. I even have a DVD of it. The line repeated throughout the movie is "Each must choose, the darkness or the light." Something to think about these days. Robin, you are also responsible for a song that has been returning to my head for months. "You've Got To Have Skin" by Alan Sherman. It's so funny.

Components:

Earring hoops and earring findings that will fit inside. Red and pearl 11/0 seed beads. 3mm fire polish. Metal beads. Ear wires. 24 guage wire.

I really like teardrop shaped earrings and it’s creative of you to wire in other findings! Did you make the hoop out of wire or buy the frame already formed?

I always love to see your work K. Ralston. It’s always unique…in a good way…elegant and sophisticated!! And very creative I should add.

Thanks everyone. It’s just a little something for now. Kelly, I just used some cheap teardrop shaped hoops that I had around here. But you could definitely make your own.

K, what a super idea wrapping the additional finding within the teardrop frame. It adds a lovely elegance to the design. Sorry to hear about all the ‘chaos’ right now–hope things get settled down. It’s good that you carved out a little time to create–I do believe it helps us deal with everything else.

Thanks Crystal. Hopefully the chaos will end soon. I’m trying to learn to garden. I’m trying to build a decent pantry. I’m trying to do some home repairs. I’m trying to design a low cost backup energy system for blackouts. I’m trying to organize my beading supplies and I can’t figure out where to keep them. I keep moving them to other parts of the house and I just decided to move them again! I’m trying to feed every wild animal in the city. It’s quite a population now. Since the ungodly heatwave the bugs have exploded, so I am at war with them now. Kathleen is a little bit exhausted, LOL. But Winter is coming, so I’m hoping to settle down and have time to make things soon. A neighbor gave me a bunch of fabric and there were some pamphlets in the bags on Irish Crocheted Jewelry. I might like to try that soon.
