Crystal’s Kazuri
About this design:
Crystal Canary suggested I try beads of different color families together in a bracelet. These beads are still somewhat related color wise but there’s a bit more color variety than my previous bracelets. Thanks, Crystal Canary!
Components:
Ceramic Kazuri beads, handmade in Kenya, 8mm corrugated beads, 6 x10 mm rectangle beads, silver crescent moon charm, clasp.Additional Images:

Crystal Canary says:Very nice Althea. The mix of colors in this Kazuri bracelet adds another level of interest on top the attention those beautiful beads bring. I’m glad you felt comfortable making it. Don’t be afraid to add other color families into the mix, such as warm & cool tones together. Complementary colors on a color wheel, such as blue & orange and yellow & violet can also be fun to work.

Crystal Canary says:Stopping in again this morning to gaze at these beautiful beads. Do some of them have gold glaze markings on them? I’ve not seen that before with Kazuris. I checked out that shop you mentioned on a previous post–I agree, a bit pricey if you where to buy enough for a necklace. Maybe just a few for accents would be the way to go. Thanks for the help.

Althea A says:Crystal, Some of them have a slightly golden sheen to them, but I don’t think it’s an actual gold glaze. I think it’s just the interplay of the clear glaze with the lighting.
