Our Black Bears

About this design:

This is a tribute to the Black Bears that roam my neighborhood. They are urban Bears. I live close to the parkway, so they wander in and around where I live. Now, as recent as last week, one has hit our trash cans in the middle of the night. I 'm pretty sure they should be hibernating by now.

Components:

Lipstick Ranch bear, Tourmaline chips, Red Line Agate, glass leaf, copper charm and brass chain.

Looks my! I don’t think I would like that. Opossum are scary enough. Your black bear necklace tribute is wonderful.

Wow. Bears in the city. I love the one on your necklace. Nice piece Sweetjane.

People in Asheville are used to bears…that’s why they are called urban bears. I have had a rather scary experience…a mama and three cubs were at the Ed of my deck while I was sitting there one day. I guess she figured I wasn’t z threat and went on.

I might also add…you rarely hear of a bear attacking someone. They will runaway from you if you you make loud noises

Love your bear necklace. Nice colors, great design.

This is beautiful, Jane. For some reason, I had decided that the bear was a polar bear. Go figure!
We have bears up here but they hide and hibernate.

    Jane or anyone …
    WOULD YOU LIKE FREE BEADS?
My stash is beyond managing and these arthritic hands are rebelling at continued use and in my early days of beading I was ever so greedy in my purchases. You name it, I probably have it; stones, findings, artist beads and many, many more!

I myself are facing the same problem with way too many beads. It was suggested that I do a destash on my shop…that’s one suggestion…or simply bag them up and take them to the Goodwill. I haven’t decided which I will do. But…that being said, I still would be interested in new beads. So…CRHG…I will pay for postage…let me know how to send you the money.

Black bears running around the neighborhood–I’ve heard of this. I think it would be very cool to see as long as it was safe. Your necklace is a fitting tribute to these urban bears & the focal is perfect.

Chicky, I would count it an honor to create with your beads! You are a generous soul to offer them. How can I contact you? Sometimes making things with beads others have chosen makes it all the more fun! :)

JANE – how did you communicate with Nancy? I am a bit leery of putting out my email … which is why I have not done this earlier.

  15. Crystal Canary
    Crystal Canary says:

Merilee, I was saddened when the personal messaging feature on this site was dropped. It’s hard now to get to know people better & communicate with one another. It was a lot of fun exchanging messages within our beading community. I do wish they would set it back up again–I miss those days. Maybe we could find a mediary to exchange phone numbers? I know what you mean about putting info out there. Having a shop or website would definitely be the easiest way to talk.

Merilee….Nancy and I would communicate thru my Etsy shop. I don’t know if Etsy appreciated that, but they never said anything. If you and Crystal could figure out how you could use my messaging on Etsy, your welcome to do so.

Crystal – I know what you mean about the personal messaging. You and Chicky can use my website to communicate also if you wish.

Merilee, you just let us know if you still want to proceed & how to do so. Hope you’re feeling better soon. It’s cloudy here today–hope the sun comes out later.

Red Haired Grammy, you don’t need phone #s or email addys. I use janes shop name thru the Messages or just a msg thru her Etsy shop. You kinda have to experiment.
