Hootie and family
by Robin nursechick on 12/07/22
About this design:
This is my front door wreath which took forever to make. I hope Lima is ok with us showing Christmas ideas. The white baby owl does have a toe ring. You just can’t see it. You know these new moms-next that baby will be all tatted up. Oh for heavens sake, I could really weave a story with this! The shows are over! I’m never doing another one! I say that every year😅
Components:
Grapevine wreath form, lots of picks , 3 owls and a hot glue gun! Merry Christmas y’all!Read the comments (or add your own)

dolllady aka Pam says:Merry Christmas y’all from deep Texas! Cute wreath! I need to get my wreaths out! Everything inside has stayed up for a couple of years They give me a warm cozy feeling all year.

Beady Little Eyes says:Beautiful wreath. I just love the little owls. Merry Christmas!

sweetjane says:I would never have thought about putting Owls on a Christmas wreath….but why not. I like to have a real pine wreath…with a cool bow on it. But, last year Holly gave me a fake wreath….which I ‘m not too keen on. But now I have to hang it.

Melody F says:Beautiful wreath, Robin. I love the owls. Lots of visual movement in your wreath with all the long botanical bits and the huge bow. I like the subtle color scheme. I have a glass and white metal storm door over an all glass and wood framing front door that you can see a long lace curtain through. And my small porch is bounded by three windows, so I never put up a wreath. Any ideas? I do have Christmas lights. All year. By next year you’ll be charged up for a new run of shows!
Sweetjane, maybe add some natural stuff to Molly’s wreath. She knows you are obsessively creative. Just tell her you thought she meant it as an element you could use.

Robin nursechick says:Show us your wreaths or mantles ladies. I love looking at all the decorations. My picks are a combination of fake greenery and naturals. The tan colored picks are wood flowers with some natural picks. Melody, Pinterest has some ideas on how to decorate a glass storm door. Jane, I agree with Melody-make it special with your own creativity! I would love to see it!

sweetjane says:Melody and Robin…you gave me an idea. I’ll take a photo of it tomorrow. I have a Ch a rlie Brown Christmas tree. I will post a pic of that as well. I hope LB won’t mind.

Moogie says:Robin, your wreath is a natural beauty. And I love your owls. Yeah, first it’s the toe rings, then the tongue gets pierced, then the tats all over. These owls are out of control.

Robin nursechick says:You’re right Moogie…they look all cute in the wreath but, those big eyes see every thing that moves. If my grandkids were little, they would be a little scared of the owl story I would weave. They have fond memories of my scary stories. My granddaughter’s first scary story was if spiders in the bead store I use to go to. Then I a story of the spiders playing soccer on the bead store floor. She would spend her time picking up stray beads while I shopped. I had a computer artist do a digital picture of our time there. There is a tiny spider in the window – you can’t see it in my ohotoy
