Rustic Copper and Rhyolite

About this design:

Spent most of the afternoon yesterday working on this necklace. Those little triangles were a bit tedious to make and took most of the time but I like what they add to the design and they look good with the rhyolite beads. This design was not what I had originally planned but along the way it kept evolving.

I started with the center copper piece that is cut from a scrap that just happened to be a good size. All of the little triangles were cut from scrap, too. I didn't try to make them all the same size because I knew that would be an exercise in futility. I used 22ga wire to make the eye pins for the beads and finished the necklace with one of my favorite LB antique copper chains.

Components:

24ga copper sheet, 22ga copper wire, 8mm and 10mm rhyolite beads, antique copper chain

Superb necklace! I could see matching earrings.

We start with an idea, but the piece ultimately decides what it will be. I admire your patience working with metal. I can imagine how much time and effort it takes to smooth and polish it. You done good.

With the main triangle point-down and the smaller ones point-up, this necklace is really well balanced. It looks really cool.

Pam, I’ll do some ear rings. I still have small triangles and bunches of rhyolite beads.
Thanks for the encouragement KR and Stingray.
