Red Birds

About this design:

I haven’t made anything in a while due to the horrible ‘virus’ I caught, and I can say it’s taking a long while to get over. This is a simple piece that allowed me to therapeutically make bead links for the chain without taxing my mind too much. I didn’t realize the tiny beads would present a challenge, as after a while my hands started to ache. I was glad to finally complete the two long strands. Adding the leaves to the rollo chain completed the calm & uncomplicated look I was trying to achieve. I look forward to getting back to beading again!

Components:

Resin bird focal, Czech leaves (LB), TierraCast links & bail (LB), rollo chain, faceted glass rice beads & antique brass pins for handmade chain. AB findings

Absolutely gorgeous Crystal. That red beaded chain is amazing, a testament to your dedication because that’s a lot of looping!! Thus necklace is perfection!

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been sick. Several friends on FB have been also and they all say the recovery is long and hard. But they all are doing well now. Just take it one day at a time.

Thanks so much for the warm words of encouragement. It’s been about a month & a half, and I can say, I’m feeling sooo much better. I really thought I wasn’t going to get through it. Hubby took good care of me. I’m just so grateful it didn’t settle in my respiratory system and end me in the hospital. Once my head cleared at the two week point, all I could do was sit in a recliner & think about jewelry designs. My eyes hurt so bad, that I couldn’t even focus to look at the tv or computer. I’m excited to start putting some of those ideas to work–let’s just hope they translate into actual designs and weren’t just delusional! Thanks again everyone.

Welcome back to the living, m’dear! Bear in mind that much wonderful art has been created whilst the artist was delusional! Love this piece!

Wonderful color and great design. The red beads remind me of lady bugs having a party and line dancing. (That is a weird thought.) Love the look and the joyful color.

LRC, Love the thought of Ladybugs–I can see them too! Maybe the shape of the rice beads, a quick glance, and our anticipation for warmer weather has us seeing bugs. This morning, our garden seeds are starting to break through the ground–I can’t wait for all those yummy zucchini! :)
