Indian Outlaw

About this design:

This piece started with the mezmerizing striped brown/white/orange agate. As it evolved, it just seemed to develop an American Indian feel to it, hence the name from the Tim McGraw song, lyrics below.

Included in it are: Agate slices, 1 mm waxed brown cotton cord (to tie the beads together instead of wire - I'd never done that before and it was fun!), carnelian in two sizes, smoky topaz in two sizes, 14 mm copper brushed beads, copper chain and clasp, copper rectangles with cutouts (shiny and textured), Fanta Orange topaz, Andaluscite rounds, and copper jump rings.

Indian Outlaw lyrics, Song by Tim McGraw

I'm an Indian outlaw
Half Cherokee and Choctaw
My baby she's a Chippewa
She's one of a kind

All my friends call me Bear Claw
The Village Cheaftin' is my paw-paw
He gets his orders from my maw-maw
She makes him walk the line

You can find me in my wigwam
I'll be beatin' on my tom-tom
Pull out the pipe and smoke you some
Hey and pass it around

'Cause I'm an Indian outlaw
Half Cherokee and Choctaw
My baby she's a Chippewa
She's one of a kind

I ain't lookin' for trouble
We can ride my pony double
Make your little heart bubble
Lord, Like a glass of wine

I remember the medicine man
He caught runnin' water in my hands
Drug me around by my headband
Said I wasn't her kind

Cause I'm an Indian outlaw
Half Cherokee and Choctaw
My baby she's a Chippewa
She's one of a kind

I can kill a deer or buffalo
With just my arrow and my hickory bow
From a hundred yards don't you know
I do it all the time

They all gather 'round my teepee
Late at night tryin' to catch a peek at me
In nothin' but my buffalo briefs
I got 'em standin' in line

Cause I'm an Indian outlaw
Half Cherokee and Choctaw
My baby she's a Chippewa
She's one of a kind

Cherokee people
Cherokee tribe
So proud to live
So proud to die

WOW!!!! Shannon, you have your year off to a great start!!!!! As for me, I have been piddling in the kitchen (ham dinner with au grautin potatoes, collard greens, speckeled butter beans, roasted onion, roasted garlic and cornbread) and playing with my new purple netbook (the keyboard is a bit smaller than a normal keyboard, so forgive any typos) Katherine

Wow I love it, and I hardly see you use agates, this is so down to earth and natural looking, I bought some of the large agate slabs from Lb a while back and I did not know what to do with them, thanks for the inspiration..

Thank you! Yes, our very own talented Starsparkle Spiral Chick (aka: Cinnamon Jewelry on Esty, Folksy, etc) made them for me. The shaped copper piece was originally on her Fall Beckons bracelet.

I’m enchanted with that shape … gotta get into more metal work this year! Thank you Starsparkle! SLS

OK. This piece really speaks to me Shannon! I think it’s my all-time favorite of the many beautiful pieces you have shared with us.
There’s a little bit of Native American blood running throught my veins and it always speaks loud and clear to me when my soul is touched. It really likes this one!! :-)
