“the dragon's life cycle”

Description from tomasina: After the mating flight (bottom right), which can look like a battle, the female constructs the rocky nest on a crag, lines it with gold and jewels to feed upon until the dragonet can hunt for itself, and lays a single egg. Neither parent will see the dragonet again until it is adult.

Cool dragon pick! Look at item 48924, it is another scaly piece that would fit right in.
Like your story, the tourmaline and gold nuggets are too lovely to be eaten!

Could never explain that “scaly piece to my dragon – it looks like a cut-off tail! Andas for the jewels, etc., the poor little baby needs high-test fuel to develop a flame!

This story strikes me as original. Either it is, or I’ve lived a long time without even wondering about the life cycle of our scaly friends. In any case, it is such a beautiful pick. I love it!

Thanks ladies! My dragon – who says her name is Zinfandel – appreciates your interest too! Her kind is seriously endangered, as humans have climbed so many of the rocky peaks, and a dragon will not nest where humans come. They tend to be too dangerous to anything they don’t recognize.
