I love your delicate spring pick! It’s wonderful when all the birds start coming back.

Love your pick. Lots of birdies and lots of trees. I was watching my hens eating seeds with the sparrows the other day – they all get along well despite the huge difference in size.

Beady, I love your story of the peace-loving hens and sparrows! Must have been plenty of seeds for all. :D MH, some of your pick looks like my yard (bare branches trees). A few migrators have returned to the melted and rain-filled pond. Red Winged Blackbirds are snarfing at our feeders i love to hear their “drink yer teeeeeee!” song when they return. This is a perfect Spring pick!

Here we have bushtits. They are tiny and they flock together except when they nest. I like to sit in my car in our driveway (when it’s too cold to sit outside) and watch them pile on our suet feeder. They don’t squabble like some other birds do, and there is always room for one more. Your pick reminds me of them, MH. I love the little bird charms. And trees are our oxygen-making life-givers. We have a birdbath too.

Melody – I love your birdbath. Mine always get knocked over by the deer and always break.
Kathryn – Our red winged blackbirds just showed up recently also. I always wear an enameled red winged blackbird pin to honor their return. So silly, I know.
So fun when fresh picks or design gallery postings go off into other directions.

Melody and Beady, it’s great to see others here who love birds. And trees. i’s love to see your little Bushtit birdies, Melody. I wonder if they may be in my state. Beady, it’s not silly to wear a pin of a bird you love. I wear a pin of a Rufus Hummer that showed up at my feeder, way out of his range, in September and stayed until November 3rd.

Sweet pick! We love watching all the goings-on around our feeders and birdbaths. The chipmunks have woken from their hibernation under our wooden garden bridge. We have chickadees, noisy bluejays, several cardinal pairs, mourning dove pairs, woodpeckers (2 kinds), lots of sparrows and those redwing blackbirds that eat all our seed! The red-tailed hawks and sharp-shinned hawks are on the prowl at times. Plus squirrels that I feed peanuts to. One is blind in one eye, and I hadn’t seen “Buddy” in months, but our granddaughter spotted him begging on the deck railing, looking into the sliders for treats. We were thrilled, I was sure he was dead. And there’s “Biddy”, the squirrel with one front arm missing. I think we’re the squirrel rehab for the neighborhood. Lots of activity to entertain us and we love it.

We all love our birds and wildlife. My son was just showing me a picture he took of a woodpecker and the squirrels outside are teasing his cat!
