Blue Lace Agate Gemstone Beads

Blue lace agate was discovered on Ysterputs Farm in Namibia, Africa by a man by the name of George Swanson. He named the stone “Gem of Ecology” because he thought that the swirling blues and whites resembled clouds in the blue sky. The most notable sources for blue lace agate are Namibia and South Africa, with the very best specimens still coming from the narrow vein on George’s farm.

These blue lace agate beads display beautiful, lacy bands of soft lavender blue and white, with some transparent layers as well. (read more)

More About Blue Lace Agate

This member of the agate family is a banded (a.k.a. fortification) agate. A banded agate is composed of thin, multi-colored layers of chalcedony and crystalline quartz; the different band colors arise from trace amounts of elements such as iron and manganese.

Blue lace agate is thought to be a great de-stressor!
