Rainbow Soocho Jade Gemstone BeadsRainbow Soocho Jade (also spelled Souchow/Suzhou/Suchow/Soo Chow) is named after the Chinese city of Suzhou. Suzhou is a city on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and on the shores of Lake Taihu in the province of Jiangsu, China. Although the trade name for this beautiful gemstone is Rainbow Soocho Jade, it is actually serpentine, a very common silicate mineral. The beautiful rainbow colors of this semi precious stone are created via heat-treatment – the different colors result from heating the serpentine to different temperatures, resulting in permanent color change. Our Rainbow Soocho Jade gemstone beads are a gorgeous mix of translucent pale greens, olive browns, bright pinks, and burgundies. We love the colors of these beads! |
