Rhyolite Gemstone BeadsOur rhyolite beads (aka rainforest jasper beads) are amazing. A cream background is marbled with soft moss green and deep burgundy-red. These beads also have inclusions of clear to translucent quartz that allow a view of the interior of the stone – very cool! Natural rhyolite material (the rock) with the nice green base coloring and great pattern has become very difficult to find. If there is any in-stock, you should grab it while you can! (read more) |

More About Rhyolite
Rhyolite, a rock made up of quartz, feldspar, mica, and hornblende, is very closely related to granite. The difference between the two is that while granite forms below the surface of the earth, rhyolite is a volcanic rock that forms when magma is expelled from below the surface of the earth as lava and then cools rapidly.
