Yellow Conglomerate Jasp. Beads

These yellow conglomerate jasper beads contain a mixture of creams and light-to-chocolate browns, as well as some yellow-browns. The pattern on these stones is wild and organic – they’re a great way to add interesting texture to your designs.

A conglomerate is a sedimentary rock that is composed of individual rounded pebbles that have become cemented together by silica, calcite, or iron oxides (if the fragments that are cemented together are angular, the stone is called a breccia). Conglomerate forms when a pebbled beach or riverbed fills with mud and sand and becomes buried under other materials. Over a long period of time, the weight of the material compresses the sand, mud and rock mix into a solid, conglomerate rock.
