More about Smoky Quartz

Smoky Quartz is a light brown to nearly black variety of macrocrystalline quartz (silicon dioxide). The smoky brown color of these smoky quartz beads arises when clear quartz (Rock Crystal) is exposed to gamma rays. Exposure to gamma rays (irradiation) can occur naturally deep below the Earth’s surface or can occur via human intervention. The coloring of our Smoky Quartz has been produced via the latter method, ensuring that it is consistent and even.

Metaphysically, many believe that quartz stones are associated with healing. Smoky Quartz is specifically associated with lessening stressors.
