Evening Rain

About this design:

Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.
- Langston Hughes

I love the combination of gemstones, glass and pearls from Limabeads.com with our Arte Metal!

i’ve been thinking of selling all my beading stuff because i get an idea then i start working on it ..then i’m sick of it before i’m done..why do i feel nothing looks good…i do have ADD maybe that has something to do with it…am i the only one?

Friend, don’t give up on beading just yet…it’s natural to get a bit frustrated. Happens to me all the time. I have been teaching myself how to bead, and it does take time. Sometimes I have to rework the project a few times. If you are not happy with something, put it down and walk away. Come back when you feel a bit more creative. If your ideas seem scattered, write then down and go from there. Best to you!

What EM says is good advice. Put it down and walk away for awhile, come back later. Write or draw your ideas down, keep colored pencils or crayons and a blank notepad handy. It does take more time then some people think to bring a project to an end or to learn a new technique. I have bead boards around with a half-finished project on them and they have been waiting to be completed for YEARS. Someday I will finish them. I sometimes wonder too if I have ADD but since I love beads and jewelry AND I take such pleasure in them I will continue to create and have fun with them. Unless you end up throwing them across the room don’t be hard on yourself.

Um, this is a beautiful necklace. But I can’t make out what the pendant is made of or how? Is it from LB?

I can’t quite figure it out either..Looks like a bit of formed wire, and all the drops attached to it…

Elis Mom, the pendant is a Vintaj piece with wrapped beads added to it, if that helps. And, it is a beautiful necklace.

Keep working at your projects. And don’t feel bad if when you get “done” you see another way you could have done it. Take it apart, mess with it, you are LEARNING all the way so it is not a failure or a bad thing to take a while to get it how you want it. When it finally hits you that hey, this looks good, you have created a piece YOU like. That’s the important thing.

N Radon, the pendant is from the Vintaj arte line in gunmetal. It is the lily pendant, which I think is also included in the Spring Rain necklace/bracelet set. Hope this helps. (Go to the Lima blog) :-)

I was also wondering what the other items were that were not listed. It would be helpful, “Vintaj Brass”, if you would just mention what the missing items are, or at least the color, since you cannot always go by the appearance on the monitor. Please add the info, if possible. Thank you.

There may be labradorite and smoky squartz, and maybe amazonite.

I think they used gemstones and beads from the Spring Rain kits which were limited time only products and so that’s probably why they aren’t listed up there. If you go back in the Lima bead blog they should list somewhere what the other components are.

This piece is truly a work of art ! Please don’t stop creating beadwork, you are very talented. I too have ADD and sometimes things get set aside till later, or much later, either because I’ve run out of creative energy for that particular piece at that moment, or I’m in a rush to start something new, but either way, I give myself permission to do that and I return eventually to the project with fresh eyes and no guilt. The end result will be much better than something forced to meet a deadline.

    Tanya J says:

Can you please list the rest of design components? Thanks.

  28. No Photo
    Deb Harding says:

I think the reason the rest if the components are not listed is that they are no longer in stock or no longer available at Lima Beads. Yoi can go to.the actual Vintaj page to get a better idea of what was used.
