Charoite is an extremely rare mineral that is found exclusively in the Sakha Republic in Siberia, Russia. It is said that the terrain and weather in this region are so difficult that miners must be flown into the site by helicopter! While some suggest that charoite is named after the Chara River in Siberia, others suggest that the name comes from the Russian word “chary”, meaning “charms” or “magic”.
Our charoite beads display pearly, chatoyant swirls of pink, lavender, violet, and silvery gray. Charoite also often contains inclusions of the golden yellow mineral Tinaksite. Similar to Lapis Lazuli, Charoite is actually a rock with many components.
Metaphysically, charoite is believed to help its wearer convert negativity into positive energy. Charoite is said to benefit the crown chakra.
