Peruvian turquoise, also known as chrysocolla turquoise, is a gorgeous blue/green color. On most beads, you'll find delicate veins, which we love because they add to the natural character of the stone. Peruvian turquoise beads are simply stunning. We were thrilled to find this stone!
Scientifically, this mineral is: CuAl6(PO4)4(OH)8. Warning - high school chemistry refresher coming... 😂 - If you remember any chemistry, you know that the "Cu" above stands for copper. When you see a beautiful, natural green color in a stone, you can bet that it was formed in the presence of copper.
This stone was commonly incorporated into the ceremonial dress of early, native Incas. It is said to attract good fortune and healing spirits.
