I wanted to create a ribbon of chain and braiding seemed the easiest option. My original goal was to create a 4 strand braid with this sparkling chain. However, plans change and I ended up braiding 3 strands :) There are so many lovely combinations available!

Supplies you’ll need:

4' of 3 styles of delicate brass bead chain

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

To make this necklace all you really need to know is how to braid :) If you try to braid all 4' at once you will end up with a massive knot at the bottom. Lay all of your chain evenly next to one another and place a book or another object in the middle to weigh down the chain and hold it in place while you braid. Braid the one end until you are 4" from the end of the chain, then turn your chain around and braid the other end.

TIP: When you are braiding "nest" your strands of chain in each other between the crystals.

Step 2

When you are happy with your braiding, take all of your ends together and make an overhand knot pulling through at least 2" of chain out to form a tassel.
