Now that fewer layers of clothing are being worn and the sun us shining more, I feel the need to layer my wrists with bracelets. I had an idea in mind for what I wanted to make today using the flat woven cord and then something caught my eye in the shop -- the Nunn Design channel bangles. I knew instantly what I'd make :)

This design is really so easy to make, all you need is a 1" channel bangle, adhesive, flat cord, and 3-4mm bead strand.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

The only supplies you need are 10mm flat cord, a strand of 3-4mm beads, a 1" channel bangle, scissors and adhesive.

Step 2

Begin by wrapping the flat cord around the bangle to see what length is needed -- should be approximately 7.25" x 2 pieces.

Step 3

After cutting 2 strips to the exact same length apply adhesive to the back of one using a toothpick. Also apply some to the end edge for when you are done wrapping around the bangle.

Step 4

Wrap the flat cord around the channel in the bangle along the edge pressing down firmly as you go. When you are done wrapping, press down and squeeze the ends together.

Step 5

Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the second length of flat cord.

Step 6

Now you will see a new channel formed between the 2 flat cords. Carefully apply adhesive in 2 inch increments to the channel along the metal bangle using a toothpick.

Step 7

Make sure you have at least 7.5" of beads strung on either the cord they came on or on something you strung them on at home, just make sure that it isn't a super stiff thread or cord. Tie a knot at either end, leaving about 1" of slack so you don't lose your beads as you wrap. Begin wrapping the beads around the bangle, pressing down into the channel where you applied adhesive.

Step 8

Repeat steps 6 and 7 until you have made it all the way around the bangle. Gently trim your cord up to the beads and press the 2 end beads back down into the glue.
