Crystal Wreath Ornament

Project details:

in favorites

As a child, I used to make these with my grandma using beads and pipe cleaners. I decided with such lovely crystal colors, that I could update this look :) All you need is 22 gauge wire for the wreath & bow, 24 gauge wire for attaching the bow, 8mm green crystal, 4mm-ish red crystal for the bow, a pair of wire cutters and a pair of bail makers or round nose pliers.

Project supplies:

The products used in this project are listed below.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

Select your beads.

Step 2

String your 8mm green crystal beads onto a 12" length of 22gauge wire. Combine your 2 ends by wire wrapping a loop using the Wubbers bail making pliers or the largest end on your round nose pliers.

Step 3

String you red beads onto a 8" length of 22gauge wire. Bend your bow into it's shape. Trim excess wire down to 1.5mm at an end and glue on a half-drilled bead. Do the same on the other bow end. If you would like to skip using the half drilled beads, trim your wire leaving an excess of 4mm and bend it it over using pliers.

Step 4

Attach the bow to the top of the wreath or where you like your bow :) Use a 6" length of 24 gauge wire .
